GRADES/ CLASSES |
| Membership of the
Nigerian Institute of
Building (NIOB) is
classified into three main levels -
Professional,
Non-Corporate
Members
and SPECIAL Levels. |

| 1. 0.
PROFESSIONAL CLASSES/
GRADES |
|
There are two
classes of
Professional membership:
- Fellow Class: FNIOB
- Corporate/
Member Class: MNIOB
1.1. Fellow
Class, FNIOB:
This is the
highest grade level
within the Institute.
It reflects the
recipient's high
knowledge, expertise,
experience and his/
her position within
the built environment.
A Fellow is entitled
to use the
appellations FNIOB
after their names.
1.2. Corporate
(Member) Class, MNIOB:
This Corporate
Class, otherwise known
as Member Class
of the Institute
recognizes the
combination of an
individual's academic
qualifications,
expertise and
practical experience,
which enable the
individual to practice
as a professional
Builder. Corporate
membership signifies
the attainment of a
full professional
qualification, and is
entitled to use the
the appellations MNIOB
after their names.

non-corporate

- Past
President Class,
PPNIOB:
This is
exclusively reserved for the Past
Presidents of the
Nigerian Institute of
Building only.
- Honorary
Fellow, Hon
FNIOB: An
Honorary Fellow
shall be a person
who by reason of
his or her
position or
eminence in the
arts, sciences or
literature, or
experience in
matters relating
to the Building
Industry, in the
opinion of the
Council, entitled
him/ her to the
distinction of
election as an
Honorary Fellow of
the Institute.
