non-builders. Under normal condition, it should be Civil/ Struc and
Building/ Struc.
Any difference? Yes! Civil/ Struc is for Civil Engineering
Structures while Building/ Struc is for Building Structures. These two
roles can be performed by the same consultant if he/ she has the required
adequate design knowledge and certification of both fields or they may be
differently performed as specialized fields by different consultants.
Certification Agencies: Nigerian Institution of Civil Engineers (NICE) -
a division of the Nigerian Society of Engineers and
Nigerian Institute of Building (NIOB) respectively.
